Edward the hero
The purpose of this section is quite simple: to present the basic character of Edward Elric in an objective, fact-based manner. Since a second Fullmetal Alchemist anime is quickly approaching without official announcement on whether it'll continue from the plot of Season One, a majority of this page will be heavily manga-based for sake of consistency.
Meanwhile, our lack of technical information (i.e. alchemy circles, skill set...) had clearly come from the personal preference of your webmistress: I'm not a big fan of scientific terms and never will be.

Edelweiss is a type of mountain flower originating from Europe. Its scientific name -- Leontopodium alpinum -- is translated as "lion's paw", derived from Greek words. Strong, persistent, brave... quite symbolic of Ed's character, don't you think?
