Edelweiss underwent production in mid-September of 2008 with the help of Adobe CS2, Notepad, Fullmetal Alchemist tanks and green tea overdose. Because it had the fortune to be Ed's approved fanlisting as well, I rushed all uploads within two weeks, squeezing time between work and sleep. Heck, what else can't I do for my favorite protagonist of all time? Especially when Mr. Ice has to save his hero's spot for Strawberry Power Make-up...

People say opposites attract and Ed is like that to me. He's basically everything I'm not -- optimistic, hardworking, eager to challenge the seemingly impossible... the list goes on. While his attempt to break the forbidden as a child had left his heart scarred forever, he's never given up walking forward. It's a wonder how his tiny -- that'll get me stabbed later -- body can hold such a big heart, and how matter-of-factly his character is arranged to fulfill it all. Well, there goes the genius of Hiromu Arakawa for you.

Edelweiss is a type of mountain flower originating from Europe. Its scientific name -- Leontopodium alpinum -- is translated as "lion's paw", derived from Greek words. Strong, persistent, brave... quite symbolic of Ed's character, don't you think?
